BFM Business | Innovative Decontamination
With the health crisis, the demand for decontamination solutions is exploding. A boon for Ventum® Biotech, whose innovative solution simplifies and revolutionizes the decontamination of air and surfaces by air. The company is seeing its demand soar and accelerating its international development.
Interview with Gina Bandar, founder and president of Ventum® Biotech.
What is the Ventum Biotech innovation?
Ventum is the culmination of 5 years of extremely thorough research, carried out in collaboration with Dr. Loutfi Kachou, founder of MCC laboratories, specializing in contamination control problems in hospitals and research laboratories. Ventum Biotech's scientific committee brings together advisers in the fields of virology, bacteriology, chemistry and pharmacy, such as Prof. Hervé Fleury, virologist, and Prof. Jean-Claude Teulade, chemist. This work made it possible to carry out the packaging and use of precursor products for the synthesis of peracetic acid, known to be the best biocide today. This was a real problem, solved with skill by an appropriate methodology for degassing Ventum® One-Touch™ products. The genius of the Ventum team has developed an extremely efficient air and surface disinfection solution for its virucidal, bactericidal, fungicidal and sporicidal qualities, combined with great ease of use.
What are the advantages of this solution?
Ventum markets its solution as a spray for surfaces and as a mist for air decontamination. It is in this "One-Touch™" form that innovation is most successful. One pressure is sufficient to diffuse the disinfectant solution by ambient nebulization. This disinfectant mist ensures a microbiological reduction of up to 99.99% in the number of living germs.
Not only is Ventum® One-Touch™ efficient, it is very easy to use, nomadic, requires no investment or trained personnel. A considerable advantage compared to current solutions.
The solution comes in the form of single-use, disposable and recyclable bags. The sizes and concentrations of these pockets vary according to the uses for a price between 8 and 20 € (10 to 25 USD).
What are your perspectives?
We are currently experiencing accelerated development in France and in Europe. At the same time, we have just opened a first subsidiary in Boston to penetrate the American market; the enthusiastic reception bodes well for rapid growth in this new North American market.
The next innovation?
Innovation is at the heart of our success and our development strategy. It is ongoing, particularly on the fundamental issue of water decontamination. Ventum aims to develop a water decontamination process as efficient and easy to use as One-Touch™ is.
