Travel Safety: Innovative decontamination for Montpellier airport
Montpellier Méditerranée airport called on the local start-up Ventum to track down covid in its boarding lounges.
The Montpellier-based company Ventum Biotech offers several solutions adapted to targeted spaces, either with a single-use device, or by nebulization of a biocidal product using a robot without human presence. The fog made up of billions of particles (less than 7µ) thus reaches the most inaccessible places and eliminates any microbial, viral or fungal contamination. This innovative process has recently proven its effectiveness in fire stations which were on the front line in the face of the pandemic.
"In the face of the virus, our weapon is peracetic acid, created in 1902" indicate the creators of the start-up. The company imagined (with patent pending), the means of conditioning this biocide which eliminates almost 100% of microbes and viruses. A process that is enjoying growing success around the world. Ventum Biotech already has offices in Paris and Boston. The company plans to expand across the Atlantic, now commercially touring the 50 US states one after the other, to demonstrate the effectiveness of their tool.
Montpellier airport is a new stage in their progress. Concretely, Tuesday June 8, when the aeronautical operation was stopped, technicians diffused by nebulization the biocide on the entire customer journey for an almost total decontamination with a logarithmic reduction of 106 (Log6) of the microbial flora and elimination of viruses, bacteria and fungal flora for a decontamination level of 99.9999%! Ventum Biotech also works closely with the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control & Prevention to fight infectious diseases.
